As watchmakers we carry a long-standing tradition of marking and measuring time. Craftsmanship consequently runs deep in our veins. For the Royal Steel Classic Annual Edition 20, we have merged our heritage with the sophisticated artistry of leather tanning, teaming up with Tärnsjö Garveri, House of Leather.
Tärnsjö Garveri produces the world’s finest vegetable-tanned leather using hides from local Swedish farms. The tannery is among the remaining 5% of tanning houses worldwide who still employ the tradition of vegetable tanning, crafting leather of unparalleled quality and beauty.
This unique collaboration has resulted in a stunning timepiece with a leather-brown sector dial brushed in different ways to create depth and natural texture. Furthermore, the watch is presented in an exclusive handcrafted pouch made of vegetable-tanned leather from Swedish hides.
The organic brown complexion of the dial and the pouch, which conveys a piece of mind only found when immersed in earthly elements, reflects the genuine connection to nature that prevails across the Scandinavian peninsula. Indeed, this joint effort truly celebrates the small-scale and the sustainable, offering Swedish luxury at its very finest.
When launched in 1993, Royal Steel Classic was the first ever wristwatch designed and manufactured in Sweden, a work of art that took us seven years to complete. Reflecting our birth year and revering the singularity of its profound origins, Royal Steel Classic Annual Edition 20 is available in only 86 unique pieces.
